    Character design while working for Techdept. Techdept wanted to do something different to their usual Christmas cards, and ask me, to create illustrations of all members of the team. Each design shows each person characters and certain interest they have.

    Screensaver developed for the University of Leeds. The video was played onto monitors to promote the event at the University.

    HTML/Flash development. The White Bear Hotel is situated in the pretty, bustling market town of Masham in the foothills of the Yorkshire Dales. The website offers information and images on the hotel and local tourist information. The website is also content managed as the client is able to edit food menus and new events hosted at the hotel.

About

My name is Jason Wan a Digital designer from Leeds West Yorkshire.

I can’t go a single day without doing some type of doodle on a piece of paper, be it a brand new character or a simple wireframe for my next project. I am always buzzing with new ideas and bring my creations to life through different techniques be it in web development or using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

WPA Pinfold - Digital Designer

1st July 2008 – 30th July 2009

After finishing University, I was offered a role as a Digital Designer for WPA Pinfold. WPA Pinfold was a great place to work; I learnt a lot about myself during my time there and developed my skills in creating web/video materials. Working at WPA Pinfold help me develop my skills further in digital media.

University of Huddersfield - Assistant Web Editor

19th September 2006 – 19th September 2007

My first role in the world of design was when I was offered a placement within the Marketing Department of the University of Huddersfield,working as an Assistant Web Editor. This was my first real taste in the industry and I was grateful that I had the opportunity to work at the University, where I was studying and apply the skills that I have learnt from my course and gain valuable experience in both web/print.

Education

In my years of study I have developed into an important member in my group assignments and manage my time effectively to meet deadlines.

I studied at the University of Huddersfield, where I received a 1st Class Honors in Interactive Multimedia. During my final year I entered a brief for D&AD for lastminute.com where my work was chosen to be featured in the 30th Student Annual.

My Inspiration

I also have a love for illustrations, I can not write on a piece of paper without doing some kind of doodles and am constantly thinking of new and interesting characters that I can bring to life through the computer. I take a lot of my inspirations from animation. I am a big fan of all types of animation, I enjoy watching Japanese animation to any past or present cartoon shows today.
